I've gotten about 50% gold from Margonite chests (100~ opened), 15% gold from Vabbian (200~ opened). Both started at a higher percentage and have lessened. Had a fair range of reqs on the weapons as well.

Doesn't seem too bad to me, but I do notice that drops become more commonly purple the more chests I open.

My experience:

Used around 15 Margonite keys. All used in Nightfallen Jahai. The first 3 chests I opened were all gold, and all purple after that. Since I been running the same place repeatedly, I do think the anti-farm code is at work here.

If you're farming LB points off Margonites, you should try alternating by only opening chests every other run. Sure you might not open as many, but you could see if your gold percentages go up.

I don't buy a lot of keys, I usually just rely on drops or I will sometimes buy a single key before heading into a new area for the first time. So far in NF I have had about 70% golds from 10 or so keys, mostly merchant fodder though.

Instead of buying keys, give the same amount of gold to a new player. They will have better uses for it, and you will get a good feeling where as if you use them for chests you'll be p-o'd roayally for the rest of the day

In other words, dropping the amount used to buy keys in the wilds or giving it away is way better than wasting it on chests.

It is unlikely you know anything at all about random number generation (or probability for that matter). Do you honestly think the game gives each player in game their own personal random number generator, rather than the system sharing one globally or per thread, that is used for just about every random event in the game?

But that warm, fuzzy feeling doesn't help with the Title tracks.

I wouldn't dream of giving gold to starting players! What, bereave someone of the sense of accomplishment they might otherwise feel upon 'getting there' on their own merit? That's not the kind of guy I am.

All in all I opened almost 200 in Nightfall so far and it sure feels like I'm suffering from diminishing returns.
I had the opposite - Vabbian chests gave me about 2 golds for 20 purples, and margonites gave me 1 purple for 6 golds..

There is definitely farm code on chests. Rank 6 treasure hunter here. I had a better average running chests in port sledge than I have had doing all of nightfall. It started with the dreaded antifarm update.

No realistic random generator? A RANDOM generator means that for some people, it may take 20 keys before getting a gold, and for others they may get 5 golds in a row. If everyone gets the average rate of say 1 gold per 5 keys it would not be a random generator. Poorly proportioned? That's called probability, go learn a few more years of math before you talk about this stuff.

Alright rather than flame about maths, can anyone else post to say whether they are experiencing what they feel may be anti farm or diminishing returns of some kind when opening chests?

couldn't they make a anti anti-farm code for some of us who like to be lucky in a while with my highy regarded 115 chests open (none from chest runs) not one item i have either used or sold for a small profit moderate profit or considerable profit, most have been my source of misery

I don't believe it's a player based anti code for chests but just an over all process. Most of us noticed very good chest drops at the release of nightfall and for a short while after. Now after the chests have been releasing good quality weapons and mods into circulation I believe a point has been reached where the release of the same quality mods and weapons is being slowed as to not over saturate the market. I also believe this was predetermined from the start and is playing out like it was meant to. This is only my opinion though but I believe it's a very valid possibilty.

If a dev sees this thread would they mind letting us know if there is a system whereby the higher your treasure hunter rank, the worse your gold drop rate from chests or something similar? thankyou.

the new chest system, random drops, is frankly dreadful and makes chest farming kinda...pointless, and the title a pure money sink. I too get purples mostly, ratio of 5:1 i reckon.
